Experiment 3: Eggless Blackforest Gâteau!

Yesterday, G, H and I set out on our 4th experiment. Eggless Blackforest Gâteau! We started off by researching all our favourite eggless baking blogs for a recipe... Though we found quite a few, we decided to go with our perfectly moist chocolate sponge cake recipe from our previous post. It really is an excellent recipe! You can't go wrong with it...:) We baked the cake using double the quantity of ingredients. Once done, we left the cake to cool and we set out to make the frosting. For the first time we used Rich's non dairy frosting. And boy, was it good?!!! It's rich, creamy and fluffy, all at once. We whipped it up and mixed it with half a tin of chopped, pitted cherries. We infused the cherry syrup with a shot of sum and moistened the cake with it. Then we frosted it with the lovely cherry icing, used a few whole cherries to decorate and voilà!! We chilled the cake for 30 minutes and it was ready to devour. I'm sure we've all gained a few pounds....
